This project was started to share some interesting tasks enabling the use of rmi related facilities in Apache's Ant.  Specifically, I was interested in being able to manage the rmiregistry and rmid from within an Ant build script.  There already exists an Ant task for the rmi compiler, rmic, and it seems only natural to have tasks managing the rest of rmi's facilities.  During this endevour, other tools have been developed that proved to be very useful.  For example, the development of a tasks to spawn and manage background processes within Ant.
